GippSport Streetgames is proud to be providing Sporting Schools. Sporting Schools is an Australian Government initiative designed to help schools increase children’s participation in sport and connect them with community sport opportunities. 

 

Sport Australia, in conjunction with the Australian Institute of Sport, has partnered with GippSport Streetgames to roll out Sporting Schools throughout Gippsland. There is a program for primary school students and a more targeted program for Year 7 and 8 students. 

 

Sporting Schools is fully funded by the Australian Government making it free to all students. Streetgames is dedicated to supporting this initiative as it helps students build the confidence and skills to be active in life.  

 

Research illuminates the benefits of sports programs in schools, as they provide increased confidence, competence, and motivation for students to continue sport throughout later life. Additionally, Sport in school offers the student increased concentration in classes, increased overall health, and healthier bodies.  

 

GippSport Coaches are fully accredited to provide the Sporting Schools Program. GippSport Streetgames is currently accredited to provide the following sports in schools:  

• Basketball 
• Lacrosse 
• Volleyball 
• Baseball 
• Special Olympics 

 

GippSport Streetgames is working towards accreditation in:  

• Golf 
• Gymnastics 

  

All Sporting School Events are subject to the GippSport Streetgames Code of Conduct and Australian/Victorian Laws. All GippSport Sporting Schools Coaches have a Working With Children Check and Police Check and are subject to screening prior to becoming a coach.
